Welcome!

First, thanks for visiting Food Taylor Made (and thanks to my love for designing my site!!!)  This is my very first attempt at anything like this, so feel free to let me know if you have questions or suggestions!

My food “style”

I have something to confess. Promise not to tell anyone, okay? Here it is: I don’t like recipes! I actually prefer to peruse several different recipes for technique, cook time, and the like before “Taylor”ing (see what I did there?) them into my final creation, but I rarely make the same dish twice. So how can I write a food blog? With a cup of patience and a drizzle of persistence! I want to bring MY recipes to YOU, so you can enjoy delicious, flavorful dishes at every meal. Don’t you feel loved? 😉 Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, cocktail hour, nothing is off limits! Now you may be asking, “Why bother? Thanks to the internet, there are TONS of recipes available right at my fingertips!” Well, what I really hope to show you is that cooking can be approachable! Don’t be afraid to try something new or to “Taylor” a recipe to suit your mood, budget, dietary needs, or, let’s be honest, fridge contents. That’s right, I even cook with leftovers!
Also, while I do enjoy indulging in all types of food (except seafood, sorry fish lovers!), I generally try to find ways to trim at least some of the calories when making the food myself. This usually involves cutting back on high fat ingredients, using lean meats, and bulking up on veggies. Nothing is off limits per se, but my goal is to allow just enough wiggle room to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, sans guilt!

Show me the recipe!

I really hope you enjoy my food blog. I’m a fan of personal touches, so I’ll be sure to share why I love each recipe and how it fits into my daily life. More importantly, however, I will make the actual recipes easy to get to. I would love for you to get to know me through my posts, but I know there are some days when “ain’t nobody got time for that”! Just look for the recipe link(s) at the top of each post, cook, and enjoy!

My goal is to post something new at least once a week. I love taking advantage of all that life has to offer AND I am a stay at home mom to a very…spirited little man, which means I don’t always have time to cook or bake. However, being in the kitchen is such a part of me that if I go too long without creating something, I tend to get a little antsy (and even a little grumpy – eek!)  The kitchen is where I find solace and I really hope to share and inspire that love in you through this site.
